Habits: Make exercise a part of your daily/weekly routine, just like brushing your teeth. (Let’s just HOPE this is a part of your habits!) Once you get used to working out on a regular schedule, not only will it get easier mentally, but your body will start craving movement as well!
Be realistic: This is life and stuff happens. If you’re having an extra busy week, or feeling extra tired, allow yourself to be flexible. So, you couldn’t go to the gym. But maybe you can vacuum the house for 15 minutes or go for a walk to the grocery store. Every little bit counts!
Be committed: Keep reminding yourself of your health and fitness goals, and keep on keeping on.
Variety is the spice of life: You’re going to get bored if you do the same workout day in and day out. Switch it up a bit! Try circuit training, walking, hiking, a machine you’ve never used before, play some basketball… you get the idea.
